The Strathmore Spartans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 14-7 win over Mendota on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Strathmore as they're now sitting on five straight.
Jacob Poole was his usual excellent self, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Strathmore is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Mendota, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Strathmore will take on Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Lincoln: 12.2, Strathmore: 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Mendota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
