Cunningham is 1-9 against Skyline since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cunningham Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Skyline Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. Cunningham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 268 points over their last four games.
Even though Cunningham has not done well against Central Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Cunningham came out on top against Central Christian by a score of 66-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Luke Albers and Will Wegerer were among the main playmakers for Cunningham as the former dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Wegerer is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke McGuire, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
After soaring to a 21-point win in their last game, Skyline came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Attica by a score of 41-38.
Cunningham's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7-2 record this season.
Cunningham and Skyline were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but Cunningham came up empty-handed after a 65-64 loss. Can Cunningham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
