The Attica Blue Devils managed to keep up with the Pembroke Dragons until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Attica ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-23 walloping at the hands of Pembroke. Attica lost against Pembroke in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-44 score last time.
Pembroke's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Onolee Easterbrook led the charge by scoring five points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Schneider, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Attica bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Pembroke, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Attica will be home for the holidays to greet Kendall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kendall's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Attica's offense will have their work cut out for Attica. Pembroke won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holley at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
