If the Center Cougars were feeling good off their 93-29 takedown of the Lindhurst Blazers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Center took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Twelve Bridges on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Center in their matchups with Twelve Bridges: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Center had strong showings from Terrill Reid, who scored 17 points along with six assists and four steals, and Dominic Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Reid hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Chris Nisi was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Twelve Bridges, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 23-4.
Center has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Wheatland is coming into the match with five straight losses on the road, meaning Center will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Twelve Bridges, they will face off against Colfax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colfax will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 640th, while Twelve Bridges is ranked 238th).
