If the Broomfield Eagles were riding high off their 73-46 takedown of the Poudre Impalas on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Broomfield fell just short of Legacy by a score of 53-50. It was the first time this season that Broomfield let down their fans at home.
Broomfield lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joey Cook, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Effland, who scored ten points.
Ari Harpring continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Legacy, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harpring has scored all season. Joey Delescinskis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Broomfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Legacy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Broomfield and Rocky Mountain will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Rocky Mountain's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. Legacy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
