Baseball Recap: Chatfield Comes Up Short

Chatfield managed to slip by Lake City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gophers came up short against the Tigers on Monday, falling 17-10. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Gophers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

This is the second loss in a row for Chatfield and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Lake City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatfield will take on Caledonia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Gophers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake City, they will host Goodhue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
