Central City has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Lakeview Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central City will be strutting in after a victory while Lakeview will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, Central City earned a 30-23 win over Centennial.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Fousek, who scored no points along with nine steals and five assists. Fousek hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jerzie Schindler, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lakeview's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 41-33 to Scotus. While losing is never fun, Lakeview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Scotus is ranked 38th).
Central City is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Lakeview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.
Central City took a serious blow against Lakeview in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 57-24. Can Central City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
