Pleasant Hope is 3-0 against School of the Ozarks since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pleasant Hope Pirates' road trip will continue as they head out to face the School of the Ozarks Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on December 7th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Pleasant Hope has not done well against Conway recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Pleasant Hope strolled past Conway with points to spare, taking the game 87-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, School of the Ozarks had just enough and edged Exeter out 56-54 on Monday. The victory was just what School of the Ozarks needed coming off of a 60-35 loss in their prior match.
School of the Ozarks' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Graham Wilhoit, who scored 9 points along with 14 rebounds, and Shadrach Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Wilhoit is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Widner, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
Their wins bumped Pleasant Hope to 5-1 and Conway to 1-1.
Everything went Pleasant Hope's way against School of the Ozarks in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as Pleasant Hope made off with a 57-34 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was School of the Ozarks' Nehemiah Thompson, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Pleasant Hope to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
