The East Duplin Panthers can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past South Lenoir, posting a 54-11 victory on the road. The win was familiar territory for East Duplin who now have five in a row.
East Duplin found their leader in underclassman Kinsey Cave, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists. Cave also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakoya Farrior, who scored 15 points.
East Duplin's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for South Lenoir, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Duplin will face off against Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Duplin is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in North Carolina (they are ranked 74th, while Wallace-Rose Hill is ranked 435th). As for South Lenoir, they will head out on the road to challenge North Lenoir at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
