On Tuesday, Layton was the victim of a tough 54-29 defeat at the hands of Davis. While losing is never fun, Layton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Davis is ranked fifth).
Despite the defeat, Layton got a solid performance out of Oakley Homer, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Farmington were a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 36-17 to Fremont. Farmington has struggled against Fremont recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Layton has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
Layton strolled past Farmington in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 55-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Layton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
