The Plaquemine Green Devils entered their tilt with the Ferriday Trojans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Plaquemine blew past Ferriday 55-20 at home. The result was nothing new for Plaquemine, who have now won four games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Plaquemine to victory were Tyrese Mosby and Nico Victorian. Mosby rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Victorian threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Aidan Joseph, who picked up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ferriday's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jerry Griffin jr, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. Caleb Ellis was another key contributor, rushing for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Plaquemine's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Ferriday, Broadmoor, and Brusly. As for Ferriday, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Plaquemine will head out on the road to face off against West Feliciana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Feliciana will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Ferriday, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rayville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
