The Tolleson Wolverines will be playing at home against the Cesar Chavez Champions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tolleson will be strutting in after a win while Cesar Chavez will be coming in after a defeat.
Tolleson can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Westwood, posting a 42-7 victory at home.
Tolleson found their leader in underclassman Rico Blassingame, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a touchdown. R.J. Dogbah made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez fell victim to Mountain View's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Toros 41-0. While losing is never fun, Cesar Chavez can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Mountain View is ranked 22nd).
Tolleson's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Cesar Chavez, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Tolleson ended up a good deal behind Cesar Chavez in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, losing 24-7. Will Tolleson have more luck at home instead of on the road?
