The Leake Academy Rebels will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Parklane Academy Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on February 14th.
Leake Academy pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bayou Academy.
Despite the loss, Leake Academy had strong showings from Marleigh Myers, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Anna Morgan Young, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Codi Breedlove was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Parklane Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took down the Buccaneers 50-35. The victory was familiar territory for Parklane Academy who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parklane Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoe Alford, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgia Lindsey, who scored 12 points.
Leake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 28-7. As for Parklane Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
