Even though the St. Bonaventure Seraphs scored an imposing 58 points on Monday, the Crossroads Roadrunners still came out on top. Crossroads walked away with a 66-58 win over St. Bonaventure. Given Crossroads' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while St. Bonaventure is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Bonaventure's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Benner and Mathew Wilson. Benner scored 19 points, while Wilson scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sam Seiden was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine assists and two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Crossroads and bumps their season record up to 16-6. As for St. Bonaventure, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crossroads will take on Campbell Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Bonaventure, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: JD Pettit and Benner.
