If Jacksonville was feeling good  fresh off their  3-0 takedown of Richlands on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell  3-1 to the New Bern Bears on Thursday. Jacksonville's offense was headlined by  Athena Teel and  Ava Wilson, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from  Grey Williams and her 38 assists. Teel was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with eight aces.
 New Bern found their leader in freshman  Allie Tuzo, who  had 21  digs and three  assists. Those 21  digs set a new season-high mark for  Tuzo.  Haley Whitehead also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.
Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for New Bern, they moved to 11-5 with that  win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.
 Looking ahead, Jacksonville will venture away from home to  face off against J.H. Rose  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for New Bern, they will host White Oak  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Bears are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
