Poquoson is 0-10 against Grafton since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Poquoson Islanders will head out on the road to face off against the Grafton Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Poquoson is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Poquoson came up short against Nandua and fell 59-48.
Despite their loss, Poquoson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dominic Galacgac, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Galacgac, who scored 15 points.
Grafton posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Smithfield and snuck past 49-47.
Poquoson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Grafton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Poquoson lost to Grafton on the road by a decisive 58-39 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Poquoson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
