The Bristol Bay Angels were the 40-23 winner over the Manokotak Lynx when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bristol Bay took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manokotak. Bristol Bay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Bristol Bay saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Harvilla scored 15 points. That was a full 39.5% of Bristol Bay's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katlynn Torino, who scored nine points.
Bristol Bay now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Manokotak, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Newhalen the next time they take the court. Bristol Bay will host Newhalen at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, while Manokotak will head out to face them at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
