After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Jolla, High Tech SD was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Hoover Cardinals 20-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Storm needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Ruby Parkin was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with five runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four).
