Riverside is 0-8 against Spring Valley since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Riverside Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Spring Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverside, who comes in off a win.
Riverside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took down Lincoln County 54-35. The victory was just what Riverside needed coming off of a 101-24 loss in their prior matchup.
Riverside can attribute much of their success to Ava Ward, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Laila Campbell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Starsick, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley faced St. Albans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Spring Valley fell just short of St. Albans by a score of 44-41. Spring Valley's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Riverside's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Spring Valley, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Riverside was dealt a bruising 66-31 loss at the hands of Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Riverside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
