Orange (Hillsborough, N.C.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 14-13 victory over
Eastern Alamance (Mebane, N.C.) on Saturday. The Panthers captured the lead for good when it scored a touchdown.
After trailing 7-3 at the half, the Eagles went ahead on a
Josh Jurgevich touchdown run with 5:00 to go in the fourth. Orange grabbed hold of the lead when it scored a touchdown with 2:00 remaining in the fourth quarter, and never relinquished it.
The loss snapped Eastern Alamance's 7-game winning streak.
Jurgevich made a difference for EA. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
The Mebane school's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run by Jurgevich in the fourth quarter.
OHS came into the game allowing 12.2 points per game. The 13 points that the Eagles ended with were well below their average of 38.6 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Eastern Alamance, which notched a 42-6 victory over C.B. Aycock in its previous outing. With the win the Hillsborough school extended its winning streak to four games.
