 Hattiesburg got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Gavin Ducksworth out in front who threw for 419 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave  Ducksworth a new career-high in  passer rating (166.7). Hattiesburg's leading receiver  Davion Young was  Ducksworth's top target yet again, picking up 240 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 Meanwhile, West Jones never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their  game  with ease, bagging  a  41-0 win over Forest Hill. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.
 West Jones' win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Hattiesburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
