Round Valley is a perfect 9-0 against Pinon since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Elks will head out to challenge the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, Round Valley made easy work of Pima and carried off a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won ten contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Brenton Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Walker was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Cason Finch and Seth Whitaker did most of the damage at the plate: Finch went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Whitaker went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Finch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeffery Cochran, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Round Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive games.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pinon and Red Mesa, and Pinon kept the tradition alive. The Eagles never let the Redskins get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won four in a row.
Round Valley's record now sits at 12-3. As for Pinon, their record is now 3-4.
Everything went Round Valley's way against Pinon in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Round Valley made off with a 22-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
