The Schaeffer Academy Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over LeRoy-Ostrander. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Schaeffer Academy has managed all season.
Schaeffer Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Linnea Ekbom, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Lillian Morrisey was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Benita Nolt, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Nolt's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Nagel, who scored four points along with 17 rebounds and seven steals.
LeRoy-Ostrander struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The victory got Schaeffer Academy back to even at 3-3. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
