It was a good run, but the Middlesex Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Carver College and Career Academy 64-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Middlesex still got an impressive performance from Kellen Layne, who scored 23 points. Malik Dandy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Camron Paul was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with four steals for Carver College and Career Academy. Paul hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Marsh, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Middlesex's defeat ended a 19-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Carver College and Career Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middlesex will take on King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King & Queen Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Carver College and Career Academy, they will be playing at home against Charles City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
