Baseball Game Preview: Nemo Vista Red Hawks vs. Maumelle Charter Falcons

The Nemo Vista Red Hawks will square off against the Maumelle Charter Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Maumelle Charter will be up against a hot Nemo Vista team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Nemo Vista's way against Sacred Heart on Tuesday as Nemo Vista made off with a 13-1 victory.

Jude Condray was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lane Jones, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Nemo Vista's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Logan Strack was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

While Maumelle Charter didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Bald Knob 13-4 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Maumelle Charter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Nemo Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Nemo Vista beat Maumelle Charter 8-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Nemo Vista repeat their success, or does Maumelle Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
