MAIS AA District 1 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in MAIS AA District 1 this week, Lee Academy beat Canton Academy 35-27. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Colts.
Lee Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,523 from 6,653. The improvement was the result of a 35-27 victory over the Panthers last week.
Bayou Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Colts feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tyler Kitchings has thrown for 1,763 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Weber Herbison has 13 catches for 251 yards. Kitchings also leads the league in rushing with 293 yards.
Ricky Weiss' team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Canton Academy.
