Childress is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Dalhart is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Childress will host Dalhart at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Childress was able to grind out a solid win over Hamlin, taking the game 9-6.
Drake Rabe was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rabe was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Childress got a great performance from Johnny Duran as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.

Back at the plate, Cash Hightower was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Childress: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Oldham, who scored three runs and stole a base.
Meanwhile, Dalhart hadn't done well against River Road recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Dalhart put the hurt on River Road with a sharp 11-1 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Childress, Dalhart also got a great game from a two-way player: Lil Bird. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Bird was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Talon Garcia, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Kreed Hines was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Dalhart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Road only managed one hit.
Childress is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Dalhart's victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Childress beat Dalhart 6-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. Will Childress repeat their success, or does Dalhart has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
