Greeley is 1-8 against Ossining since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Greeley Quakers will head out on the road to square off against the Ossining Pride at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Greeley has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Ossining will arrive with three straight victories.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-44, which was the final score in Greeley's tilt against White Plains on Friday. While losing is never fun, Greeley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while White Plains is ranked 78th).
Hendrick Hudson typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Ossining proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Sailors 72-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ossining's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniya Bell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Nicole Perriott was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds.
Greeley's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Ossining, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Greeley couldn't quite finish off Ossining in their previous meeting back in January and fell 75-73. Can Greeley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
