If the Antelope Valley Antelopes were feeling good off their 86-56 takedown of the California City Ravens on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Antelope Valley had to suffer through a rough 74-42 loss at the hands of North. While losing is never fun, Antelope Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while North is ranked 365th).
Antelope Valley lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kiwan Sims, who scored 12 points. Sims scored a full 28.6% of Antelope Valley's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Archie, who scored eight points.
Antelope Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for North, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Antelope Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Palisades at 3:30 p.m. on January 15th. North won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Desert at 10:30 a.m. on January 6th.
