The Keys Gate Knights were the 66-53 winner over Sports Leadership & Management when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Keys Gate was dealt a 72-39 loss at the hands of Sports Leadership & Management on Friday. While losing is never fun, Keys Gate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Sports Leadership & Management is ranked 236th).
Despite the defeat, Keys Gate saw an underclassman step up: Robney Benoit scored 10 points. Benoit continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mcbean, who scored 2 points along with 9 rebounds.
Keys Gate's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Keys Gate's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westminster Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will face off against Somerset Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
