The West Liberty-Salem Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Northeastern on the road to the tune of 49-17. The win was nothing new for West Liberty-Salem as they're now sitting on seven straight.
It was another big night for Lilly Weaver, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaley Wade, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Northeastern's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Tuttle, who scored eight points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northeastern struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Liberty-Salem pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
West Liberty-Salem's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Northeastern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Liberty-Salem will square off against Greeneview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greeneview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while West Liberty-Salem is ranked 152nd). As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Catholic Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
