After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Concord Christian, the First Baptist Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They slipped by Clayton-Bradley Academy 60-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dustin Henderlight, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Henderlight hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Hager, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
First Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-23. As for Clayton-Bradley Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
First Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Apostolic Christian is on a five-game streak of home losses, the Eagles a 22-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Clayton-Bradley Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
