Alcester-Hudson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Colman-Egan 18-1 on Thursday. The Cubs have beaten the C-E Hawks the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the C-E Hawks has come to flipping the script.
Emma Moller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Moller was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Alcester-Hudson let Jenna Manning and Paxtyn Moller run wild. Manning went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Moller went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Manning has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Kingma, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Alcester-Hudson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in six consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Oldham-Ramona/R got the win against Parker on Monday by a conclusive 19-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rutland.
Gabby Pickard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Pickard was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Kenlee Hansen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Hattie Hanson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.
Alcester-Hudson's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Oldham-Ramona/R, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
