Ayden - Grifton's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Roanoke Rapids hitters got past them. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 20-12 margin over the Yellowjackets on Saturday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Brysen Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Ewell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Zach Jones was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Ayden - Grifton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, West Columbus posted their closest win since March 11th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Pender 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
West Columbus' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brennen Little, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Ayden - Grifton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for West Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ayden - Grifton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Columbus struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
