After a string of five wins, The Summit SkyHawks''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 31-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eisenhower. Summit lost against Eisenhower in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 14-10 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Summit lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jesse Vega. Despite the final result, he rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 145 yards and a touchdown.
Dashaun Benton had a dynamite game for Eisenhower, picking up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 165 yards. Jacoby Pointer-Caldwell did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Eisenhower, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Summit will take on Jurupa Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Jurupa Hills is ranked 252nd, while Summit is ranked 247th). As for Eisenhower, they will head out on the road to face off against Grand Terrace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant receivers against one another: Exzavior Oliver and Benton.
