Chandler is 8-2 against Hamilton since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Chandler Wolves will be playing at home against the Hamilton Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Chandler faced Perry in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chandler took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Perry.
Chandler had a senior duo take command as CaLil Valentine rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry and Blake Heffron threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Valentine was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Branch, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hamilton made easy work of Red Mountain on Friday and carried off a 49-28 win. With Hamilton ahead 28-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Hamilton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rich Lucero jr., who threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Breylon Blount was another key contributor, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 7-2.
Chandler couldn't quite finish off Hamilton in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 and fell 19-17. Will Chandler have more luck at home instead of on the road?
