St. Joseph extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 10-2 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Ludlowe Falcons. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Katie Dzialo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, St. Joseph got a massive performance out of Kelsey Flanagan, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Flanagan a new career-high. McKenna Stratton was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
St. Joseph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ludlowe only posted a batting average of .125.
As for Ludlowe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 3.75 runs allowed.
On Ludlowe's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Santa Barbara, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
