The King George Foxes lost against the Stafford Indians back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. King George fell just short of Stafford by a score of 35-33. King George has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
King George's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colson Clary, who scored 7 points along with 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christon Jones, who scored 6 points along with 4 blocks.
Stafford was led to victory by Sean Hopkins and Zion Bacchus. Hopkins scored 6 points along with 11 rebounds, while Bacchus scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Deandre Monroe, who scored 6 points.
King George's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stafford, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
King George's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Stafford, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodbridge at 7:15 p.m. on December 6th.
