Swansboro has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The West Carteret Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Swansboro didn't have quite enough to beat Croatan and fell 10-7.
Meanwhile, West Carteret didn't have quite enough to beat Richlands on Friday and fell 12-10. West Carteret has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Jaylen Hewitt, who threw for 208 yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Swansboro to 0-8 and West Carteret to 4-4.
Swansboro lost to West Carteret on the road by a decisive 39-20 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Swansboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
