Volleyball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vinemont Eagles.

While Lexington was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20.

Brenlee White paced Lexington's offense, picking up six kills. White got some help from Katelyn Sullivan and her 11 assists. Kathleen Moncus controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lexington has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Vinemont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Vinemont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Meek on the 30th.
