Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Newton last Saturday, Faith Christian came back down to earth. The Faith Christian Eagles took a blow against the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights on Tuesday, falling 76-45. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian still got an impressive performance from Mattea Maggio, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points. The game was Maggio's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Johanna Haste was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Faith Christian will venture away from home to square off against North White at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will head out to challenge Tri-West Hendricks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-West Hendricks has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
