La Feria is 8-1 against Hidalgo since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The La Feria Lions will be playing at home against the Hidalgo Pirates at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for La Feria and ten for Hidalgo dating back to last season.
La Feria fell victim to Calallen's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Wildcats, falling 63-0. While losing is never fun, La Feria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1081st, while Calallen is ranked 359th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 34-7, which was the final score in Hidalgo's tilt against King two Fridays ago.
The losses dropped La Feria to 1-6 and Hidalgo to 0-6.
La Feria barely slipped by Hidalgo in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 35-34. Does La Feria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hidalgo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
