Baseball Recap: Roswell Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Roswell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Lovington on Thursday. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-7 win two weeks ago.

Adrian Lucero was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savino Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Roswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Roswell's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Lovington, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Roswell will face off against Santa Fe at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.36 runs per game on average), something the Coyotes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lovington, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eunice at 6:00 p.m.
