Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Titans are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln Park Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laylah Dawkins, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Dawkins has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Juliana Ball, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points.
Dawkins wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lincoln Park Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Jensen Beach waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 68-42 win.
Jensen Beach's win came from a few key players Lincoln Park Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayla Brinkley, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Fitzwater, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and three steals.
Jensen Beach has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lincoln Park Academy has been crazy accurate this season, having nailed 47.1% of their field goals per game. It's a different story for Jensen Beach, though, as they've only nailed 32.3% of their shots this season. Given Lincoln Park Academy's sizable advantage in that area, Jensen Beach will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lincoln Park Academy took their win against Jensen Beach in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 62-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Park Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
