Centennial has not had much luck with Independence recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Centennial's loss came despite strong showings from Addison Gorday and Bethany Wright. Gorday scored 14 points along with two steals, while Wright scored six points along with five rebounds. Gorday has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Independence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evy Nichols, who scored 14 points. Nichols continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Riley Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Centennial bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Centennial will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. Brentwood will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Page at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Page presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Independence in Tennessee (Page is ranked 74th, while Independence is ranked 250th).
