The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will face off against the Finneytown Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Finneytown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Madeira, who comes in off a win.
Madeira came out on top against Miami Valley Christian Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS blew past the Lions 10-2. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS this season.
Carson Shafer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Beck, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those eight stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Wallace, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Finneytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Indian Hill, falling 25-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.
Madeira has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Finneytown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Madeira has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Finneytown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Madeira's way against Finneytown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Madeira made off with an 11-0 win. Will the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
