The DeMatha Stags are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Bishop Ireton Cardinals. DeMatha secured a 61-55 W over Bishop Ireton. The win was familiar territory for DeMatha who now have six in a row.
Malcolm Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Kade Sebastian was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
DeMatha pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Bishop Ireton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
DeMatha will take on Imhotep Charter at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Bishop Ireton will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against The Heights at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. The Heights is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
