Even though Berlin/New Lebanon scored an imposing 64 points on Monday, Doane Stuart still came out on top. Doane Stuart took their game against Berlin/New Lebanon 77-64. Doane Stuart pushed the score to 65-43 by the end of the third, a deficit Berlin/New Lebanon cut but never quite recovered from.
Doane Stuart relied on the efforts of Kiere Franze, who scored 28 points, and James Calcagno, who scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Calcagno has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidi Xu, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Loudonville Christian put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Schroon Lake with a sharp 55-35 win.
Doane Stuart pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Loudonville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Doane Stuart ended up a good deal behind Loudonville Christian in their previous matchup back in January, losing 89-73. Can Doane Stuart avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
