The Tonopah Muckers lost against the Indian Springs Thunderbirds back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tonopah fell 37-28 to Indian Springs. Tonopah has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Indian Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oriyah Clay, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Clay is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Celina Pena, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Tonopah's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Indian Springs, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Tonopah won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lone Pine at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Lone Pine is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Indian Springs, they will head out on the road to take on Beatty at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beatty comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
