Lafayette extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. Everything went their way against the Hamilton County Trojans as they made off with a 47-22 victory. Lafayette's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tywan K Williamson, who threw for 157 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 58 yards on only five carries. K Williamson is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least four every time he's taken the field this season. Lafayette also got a significant boost from Trevor Byrd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Lafayette's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jaxson Prine with 2.5 sacks.
Having lost for the first time this season, Hamilton County fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.
Despite the defeat, Hamilton County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jakori Johnson picked up 153 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-14 loss against Chiefland on the 12th. As for Hamilton County, they have also already played their next contest, a 70-30 defeat against West Nassau on the 12th.
